How Canopy Stays Cool in the Georgia Heat

It’s hot out there, Atlanta. We’re always looking for ways to beat the heat, so we decided to put together a list of our favorites. Here’s what our team recommends:

Dragon Con

Dragon Con is far from your typical Atlanta activity! It’s the largest pop-culture convention “in the universe” focusing on science fiction and fantasy, gaming, comics, literature, art, music, and film. “You see thousands of costumes, and it’s so cool to see the huge community that comes out of hiding. There is so much love and acceptance.” - Marissa

Krog Street Market

If you want all things local, KSM is your gathering place. In true Atlanta fashion, this refurbished 1920’s warehouse is packed with stalls selling produce and prepared food, along with a dozen southern-grown restaurants and retailers. “All you have to do is follow the Eastside BeltLine trail to Inman Park, and you’ll find the perfect spot to spend a day of browsing and sampling great food.” - Rodney

Eddie's Attic

Located just outside of Atlanta in Decatur, GA, Eddie’s Attic is one of the city’s most iconic venues that hosts aspiring and accomplished musical artists. “For all of the music fans out there, it’s a smaller, more intimate venue where you are asked to turn off your phone and actually listen. I love feeling like I’m part of the club when I’m there.” - Andy

Dad's Garage

No, it’s not actually a garage, but it is a place to park yourself for a night of comedy and improv. Dad's Garage is an award-winning non-profit theatre company in Old Fourth Ward that seats more than 30,000 people a year! “It’s an unconventional activity if you’re sick of the same old, same old.” - Betsy

Bury the Hatchet

We don’t condone throwing axes in any other environment, but this new axe throwing fad is definitely worth trying out. “Make a reservation with friends or even coworkers and enjoy a couple of hours of throwing heavy objects at walls! What else would you want to do in your free time??” - Melissa
