The Best Non-Awkward First Date Spots in Atlanta.png

If you’re single in Atlanta, you know that first dates can be a little awkward. After all, you don’t really know the person, and imagining sitting across from them for an entire dinner…GULP. Plus, once you sit down in that movie theater afterwards, you’re definitely stuck until the movie is over.

It doesn’t have to be like this! That’s why we’re sharing some of our favorite first date spots in Atlanta to keep the opportunity for awkwardness at a minimum.

You want to go somewhere that puts zero pressure on you, that also allows you to feel comfortable and get to know each other. And that might mean going somewhere that isn’t quiet with plenty to do.

Here are a few ideas for first date spots in Atlanta:

  1. The Roof at Ponce City Market - From mini golf to boardwalk games, this place has plenty of activities to keep you occupied and laughing for an afternoon. There’s food, drinks and entertainment. Depending on the time of year, there’s generally an event coming up for you to plan on.

  2. Georgia Aquarium - You’ll have plenty to talk about as you wander through the aquarium. It’s in the heart of Downtown and gives you an opportunity to take your date elsewhere if you’re having a great time.

  3. Andretti - Beyond car racing, Andretti has food, drinks, and games that differ depending on the location. There are two locations near Atlanta. Don’t worry about making a fool of yourself, it’s endearing.

  4. Volunteer - One of the many ways to get more involved in your city is volunteering for a local nonprofit. You can find something you and your date are passionate about and give back, while spending quality time together.

  5. Apple picking - We’re not kidding. An apple farm is a great laid-back date. There are a number of apple farms around Atlanta you can visit. If you’re feeling option 4, check out Concrete Jungle.

  6. Bowling - Worried about awkward silence? Try bowling. This is a fun way to see how the other person handles a little competition. Try a classic Atlanta location like Midtown Bowl in the heart of Midtown.

Find a date spot offering a variety of activities or conversation starters. And it always helps to have an idea that doesn’t have a time limit attached to it - you know, in case things get awkward.
